On July 25, 2026, Morse H. Tan, former U.S. Ambassador-at-Large for Global Criminal Justice and professor at Liberty University, delivered his first speech in South Korea at the “10 Million National Resistance Rights National Convention” held in Gwanghwamun Square, Seoul.
A large crowd gathered at the site, waving the South Korean and American flags in enthusiastic response. Tan spoke on the international situation, the current state of Korean politics, his support for former President Yoon Suk-yeol, and a vision of “free unification” rooted in faith, calling on the audience to continue the struggle.
The International Situation and the Importance of East Asia
At the beginning of his speech, Tan described the Trump administration’s foreign policy as a “massive four-dimensional chess game.” He argued that the tough measures against Iran, Venezuela, Russia, and Cuba are ultimately aimed at Northeast Asia, designed to isolate and pressure the Chinese Communist Party and North Korea.
He pointed out that cutting off oil supplies from Venezuela and Iran to China, along with the imposition of 100% tariffs on China, are all organically connected economic and security measures.
He further warned that North Korea’s receipt of missile support from Russia and its assistance to Iran could serve as a trigger that elevates the Korean Peninsula issue to a global focal point. Emphasizing the strategic importance of East Asia—particularly South Korea—he questioned the role Korea must play in the current international order.
Harsh Criticism of Korean Politics — Election Fraud, Neglect of the ROK-U.S. Alliance, and National Governance
Tan then sharply criticized the Lee Jae-myung administration. He claimed that it is destroying the blood alliance that has continued since the Korean War and weakening national defense capabilities.
“Deviating from the alliance’s orbit in relations with Iran, abandoning solidarity with Israel, and cozying up to North Korea and China are clearly acts of treason and anti-Korean behavior,” he declared.
He repeatedly raised suspicions of election fraud.
Noting that investigations into election servers had finally begun, he stressed that they “must be thoroughly pursued to the very end, 100 percent.” He called for the complete abolition of electronic voting and counting, insisting on the introduction of transparent paper ballots and manual counting under camera recording.
He also criticized the Association of World Election Bodies (AWEB), headquartered in Korea, as a “hotbed of global election fraud” and demanded its immediate dissolution.
Specific Criticism of Lee Jae-myung
Tan further criticized Lee Jae-myung, saying:
“It is a disgrace that a person who betrays Korea is sitting in the Blue House. He is trampling on the people and seizing the basic rights given by God.”
He described the Lee administration as “a violent organization sitting in the Blue House,” and claimed Lee is creating new laws to protect himself while distorting existing ones to expand his power.
On foreign policy, Tan noted that when asked what he would do if China attacked Taiwan, Lee reportedly replied, “That has nothing to do with us.” Tan responded that the U.S. needs a week to mobilize its forces, so Korea, Japan, and the Philippines must be willing to defend Taiwan—just as 16 countries helped Korea during the Korean War.
Continuing his sharp criticism, Tan insisted that Lee Jae-myung must take ultimate responsibility for election fraud, calling for his immediate resignation and impeachment. He urged the public to fully support a national petition campaign and noted that U.S. intervention could become possible if the Korean people rise up in sufficient numbers.
He also criticized the departure ban imposed on himself as an unjust political measure and called for greater transparency in the election system to protect democracy from the abuse of power.
Unwavering Support for Yoon Suk-yeol
In his speech, Tan clearly expressed his continued support for former President Yoon Suk-yeol. He continued to refer to him as “President Yoon Suk-yeol” and evaluated the past declaration of martial law as “a decision made for the enlightenment of the people.”
“President Yoon prioritizes the people and the nation over his own well-being and is enduring all the suffering himself,” he said. He encouraged the public to fight day and night to defend liberal democracy and the ROK-U.S. alliance, just as Yoon continues to pray even while in prison.
A Call for “Free Unification” Rooted in Faith
Finally, Tan revealed that his activities are rooted in faith in God. “God has not forgotten this nation. Through our endless prayers and struggles, the day of free unification will surely come,” he declared. He emphasized that “free unification” under a free democratic system is the only path to ending the war on the Korean Peninsula.
He called on the Korean people to continue this struggle and for even more citizens to rise up, concluding his speech.
